The base — structure without stiffness.
Premium heavyweight linen
Belgian and Lithuanian long-line flax
High-texture flax linen with a dense, slubby hand. It is the base of the house: rigid enough to hold an architectural pleat, soft enough to sweep. We spec 240–320 gsm so a palazzo leg falls in a column rather than clinging.
The soul — earth-dyed geometry, one batch at a time.
Bogolan mudcloth (Malian mudcloth)
Ségou, Djenné and San, Mali
Hand-woven cotton strips painted with fermented river mud over a leaf-tannin bath. The pattern is a geometric language, not a decoration: each motif is a proverb. We use it as structural panelling — yokes, cuffs, side-seam ribbons — never as a flat print.
The elevation — couture cord that frames every textile joint.
Architectural embroidery
Bamako, Ouagadougou and Abidjan ateliers
Heavy 3D cording, satin stitch and metallic cord fills in gold or silver. The embroidery frames the joint where heritage cloth meets linen, turning a seam into a deliberate couture edge. The diamond Z is raised over a felt pad so it catches gallery light.

- Meticulously hand-woven prestige strips. We cut them into narrow structural borders — placket, hem, cuff — so the weave reads as architecture.

- Intricate, story-driven wax prints. Reserved for vibrant accents — lining, facing, a single reveal panel — rather than whole garments.

- Oversized metal zippers, Z-monogram buckles and exposed pulls in brushed brass or gunmetal. Every buckle face carries the diamond Z. High-contrast hardware is what makes the tailoring read Zipper Vibe rather than heritage costume.
