The ceremonial robe of the bench: black wool crepe with burgundy silk facings and gold braid down the front and back seams, cut full-length for dignity and stillness, with one narrow Bogolan mudcloth band at the cuff alone.

The suit worn beneath the robe: charcoal super-150s wool with a black satin lapel, linen jabot and gold diamond Z pin; the Bogolan mudcloth shows only as a facing inside the lapel.
