The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'tjankara leaf mordant followed by a slow black-mud pass — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets porcelain textured leather and knit upper, bogolan mudcloth side reveal and lace cord, obsidian heel counter with deep-emerald line, sculpted grounded midsole on rubber tread. z-grip™ lift cut (zg-3036) on the z-grip™ lugged rubber chassis, interlocking arrowhead cleats angled outward for lateral bite, tapered aerodynamic last with a raked heel breast, stack 30 mm heel / 20 mm forefoot, 10 mm drop, laced in heavy bogolan rope lace, brass-crimped tips, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
