The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a double n'gallama bath with a lime-brightened reserve for the pale ground — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets oiled full-grain leather and technical canvas, reinforced rubber rand, woven bogolan mudcloth trim, deep-lug outsole, aged-gold z hardware. z-grip™ anchor cut (zg-8866) on the z-grip™ lugged rubber chassis, honeycomb vacuum cells with siped micro-edges, low-slung court last with a flattened tread plane, stack 18 mm heel / 16 mm forefoot, 2 mm drop, laced in flat woven bogolan mudcloth tape, aged-gold aglets, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
