The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'gallama leaf bath, then river-mud fermentation over three passes — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets weatherproof technical shell with thermal lining, woven bogolan mudcloth detail panel, ice-grip rubber outsole, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-ice™ hush cut (zi-3588) on the z-ice™ winter ice-grip chassis, interlocking arrowhead cleats angled outward for lateral bite, sculpted almond last with a lifted toe spring, stack 34 mm heel / 22 mm forefoot, 12 mm drop, laced in round braided bogolan cord over a waxed core, aged-gold aglets, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
