The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'tjankara leaf mordant followed by a slow black-mud pass — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets weatherproof technical shell with thermal lining, woven bogolan mudcloth detail panel, ice-grip rubber outsole, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-ice™ ember cut (zi-7331) on the z-ice™ winter ice-grip chassis, banded terrace steps rising from forefoot to heel, tapered aerodynamic last with a raked heel breast, stack 30 mm heel / 20 mm forefoot, 10 mm drop, laced in heavy bogolan rope lace, brass-crimped tips, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
