Z-Rain Momentum Performance Shoe — Men

Keep The Momentum. A sport-built waterproof shoe for wet-weather walking and active commuting: lightweight technical shell over a breathable waterproof membrane, sculpted heel stability clip, cushioned midsole and a high-flex Z-GRIP™ wet outsole. Coated Bogolan mudcloth appears at the pull loop and interior facing; the Z sits tonal at the heel. Fit: true to size, performance last, Z-FLEX™ stride zones. Care: wipe mud and road water off after wear, rinse the outsole, air dry naturally away from direct heat, condition waterproof leather as needed and clean coated Bogolan details gently with a damp cloth. Water-resistant to sealed-seam construction — not designed for submersion. Worn with the register's very slim tapered trouser with a hairline Bogolan mudcloth seam stripe.

    Premium hoodies, shirts and tracksuits: 3D puff embroidery in metallic gold thread, raised off the fabric so the emblem catches the light.

    Minimalist accent at the upper centre-back neck or right wrist, executed in high-frequency TPU printing for a durable rubberised texture.

    A separate piece of metallic gold leather or reflective vinyl cut and stitched onto the outer side panel with ultra-tight matching thread lines.

The Bogolan story

The cloth

Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a wolo bark tannin with iron-rich mud drawn from the Niger banks — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets lightweight technical shell with breathable waterproof membrane, moulded heel stability clip, coated bogolan mudcloth pull loop and interior facing, cushioned eva midsole, high-flex z-grip™ wet-traction outsole, tonal z heel mark.

The motif — Kere

The tape carries tight lattice with hand-dotted corners. In the Bamana reading, Kere is the fence weave — protection of what has been built. Z-Vibe keeps the motif at heritage scale rather than shrinking it into a logo pattern, so the hand of the maker stays legible on the finished piece.

Why it sits where it sits

Mudcloth is placed on construction points, never scattered as decoration: signature band. These are the lines the eye already follows on this silhouette, so the cloth reads as structure — an edge, a facing, a seam — and holds its meaning at three metres and at arm's length alike.

The hand-work

Each length is hand-turned and pick-stitched in silk thread, then pressed over a ham so the tape sits flat, not glued. Tape width and motif repeat are cut to the size band, so a petite run and an extended run carry the same proportion rather than the same measurement.

Tread, last and stack height were made unique to the shoe rather than shared across the register.
