The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'tjankara leaf mordant followed by a slow black-mud pass — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets engineered mesh and nubuck upper, rail-form track midsole, sculpted sidewall, woven bogolan mudcloth detail, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-glide™ relay cut (zg-3024) on the z-glide™ retractable wheel chassis, interlocking arrowhead cleats angled outward for lateral bite, sculpted almond last with a lifted toe spring, stack 30 mm heel / 20 mm forefoot, 10 mm drop, laced in narrow bogolan ribbon lace with a hand-knotted stopper, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
