The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'tjankara leaf mordant followed by a slow black-mud pass — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets engineered mesh and nubuck upper, rail-form track midsole, sculpted sidewall, woven bogolan mudcloth detail, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-glide™ metro cut (zg-8092) on the z-glide™ retractable wheel chassis, raked sawtooth blades set on a 12° forward rake, squared architectural last with a chiselled toe box, stack 40 mm heel / 26 mm forefoot, 14 mm drop, laced in round braided bogolan cord over a waxed core, aged-gold aglets, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
