The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a wolo bark tannin with iron-rich mud drawn from the Niger banks — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets engineered mesh and nubuck upper, rail-form track midsole, sculpted sidewall, woven bogolan mudcloth detail, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-glide™ comet cut (zg-7289) on the z-glide™ retractable wheel chassis, hexagonal mudcloth-lattice lugs mirroring the bogolan grid, rounded volume last with a deep instep for thick socks, stack 28 mm heel / 18 mm forefoot, 10 mm drop, laced in narrow bogolan ribbon lace with a hand-knotted stopper, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
