The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'gallama leaf bath, then river-mud fermentation over three passes — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets engineered mesh and nubuck upper, rail-form track midsole, sculpted sidewall, woven bogolan mudcloth detail, aged-gold z-closure™ hardware. z-glide™ cargo cut (zg-6535) on the z-glide™ retractable wheel chassis, concentric compass rings radiating from a gold-hubbed pivot, squared architectural last with a chiselled toe box, stack 40 mm heel / 26 mm forefoot, 14 mm drop, laced in flat woven bogolan mudcloth tape, aged-gold aglets, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
