The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a n'gallama leaf bath, then river-mud fermentation over three passes — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets breathable knit and soft nappa, memory-foam footbed, ergonomic rocker eva sole, woven bogolan mudcloth detail, aged-gold z tab. z-air™ grace cut (za-5555) on the z-air™ cushioned eva chassis, banded terrace steps rising from forefoot to heel, narrow blade last drawn long through the waist, stack 40 mm heel / 26 mm forefoot, 14 mm drop, laced in round braided bogolan cord over a waxed core, aged-gold aglets, diamond z at the lateral wall, z-vibe at the medial wall.
