A tall lace-up house winter boot in black weather-ready leather with a plush ivory thermal collar carried down the lace channel, black laces on polished gold hardware, an original gold-on-black Bogolan mudcloth panel along the outer rear shaft and a discreet gold Z at the heel, over a reinforced toe and heel. Underfoot, the Z-NAIL™ concept: tire-inspired traction studs positioned across the heel and forefoot zones and integrated into a flexible sculpted lug outsole rather than bolted on as oversized spikes. Z-NAIL™ is presented as a design and engineering concept pending prototype and traction testing — no slip-free claim, no temperature or waterproof certification. Commerce data: TBD — Coming Soon. The cloth
Bogolanfini begins as hand-woven cotton strip cloth, joined selvedge to selvedge before it ever meets the dye. It is dyed with a wolo bark tannin with iron-rich mud drawn from the Niger banks — the pattern is not printed on, it is drawn in mud and then the ground around it is lifted away. On this piece the mudcloth meets black weather-ready technical leather upper, plush ivory thermal collar and lace-channel trim, gold-tone eyelets, hooks and z emblem, gold-on-black bogolan mudcloth heritage shaft panel, reinforced toe and heel, sculpted black lug outsole with integrated z-nail™ traction studs (concept, pending testing).
The motif — Sirablen
The tape carries a broken line stepping across the ground cloth. In the Bamana reading, Sirablen is the road home — steadiness on a long journey. Z-Vibe keeps the motif at heritage scale rather than shrinking it into a logo pattern, so the hand of the maker stays legible on the finished piece.
Why it sits where it sits
Mudcloth is placed on construction points, never scattered as decoration: signature band. These are the lines the eye already follows on this silhouette, so the cloth reads as structure — an edge, a facing, a seam — and holds its meaning at three metres and at arm's length alike.
The hand-work
Each length is cut on the straight grain, mitred at the corners and felled by hand so no raw edge is left inside. Tape width and motif repeat are cut to the size band, so a petite run and an extended run carry the same proportion rather than the same measurement.

Sole identity resolved for this style — Z-Grip™ Women Cut (ZG-2462) on the Z-Grip™ lugged rubber chassis, woven-cord relief echoing a Bogolan warp, rounded volume last with a deep instep for thick socks, stack 34 mm heel / 22 mm forefoot, 12 mm drop, laced in twin-tone Bogolan flat tape, obsidian on ivory, aged-gold aglets, diamond Z at the lateral wall, Z-VIBE at the medial wall. Tread, last and stack height were made unique to the shoe rather than shared across the register.
